Ricardo & Erika | Hotel Arts Wedding

As a photojournalist trying to document and tell the story, I take mental notes of memorable details at each event I photograph. And there were many on Erika’s and Ricardo’s wedding day – Erika dancing with her father, while a video of them dancing together when Erika was a little girl played on the projection screen; the surprise choreographed dance organized by Erika’s aunt from Winnipeg; Ricardo being teased because his last name sounded like a Mexican food item. But what I remember the most happened near the end of the night. Ricardo was doing something particulary sweet for Erika, so I told him that he may just be the best husband ever – and he simply said “I try”.The ladies from Maddpretty did a fabulous job on the girls’ hair and makeup. I love the romantic look of braids in updos right now. This is one of my favorite shots 🙂Love the wood and concrete detailing throughout reflecting these two intern architects. The ladies of Details Events did a wonderful job bringing E&R’s vision into reality at the super chic Hotel Arts.I was beyond thrilled that they showcased their engagement photos (taken by yours truly:)) throughout the dinner and speeches. That same screen was then later used to stream photos from the photobooth. So smart! These two are so loved.I may have been a bit misty eyed during the father-daughter dance, while they showed video of their father-daughter dance when Erika was little. And then…surprise!DJ Fayyaz kept the party going all night!Congratulations Erika & Ricardo!

I love this set of images. Every picture is so clear and natural – not an easy feat on a fast-paced wedding day. And your use of the spaces (like the large atrium area) is beautiful. Plus, you also captured great emotions, like the photo of the bride with her father, or when she sees her reception sign. Lovely!

Beautiful wedding! I love how you incorporate the architecture in those images, it really gives another dimension to the story. And I LOVE that portrait of the bride under some red lights? That is stunning!
