What can you live without?

I am a foodie. Not one of those high falutin’ fancy food snobs (I actually googled “falutin” for spelling haha). I mean, I just love food and cooking and the love that goes into them. The Food Network is #1 on my remote speed dial. 90% of my PVR recordings are food related shows and […]

Haha, you crack me up. XD There’s no way I could do the 100-mile radius food thing, though, unless I moved next to a kraft factory. Can you say CREAM CHEESE? Mmmm!!

I watched the episodes they did in BC and I actually considered the possibility of doing this for lent so just for 40 days instead of 100. I can live without a lot of imported stuff, but some things i just consider necessities like coffee, rice, and even just salt and pepper; I probably won’t last 2 days without them. I’m asian so I can live on rice and steamed veggies with soy sauce for 100 days, but not on unsalted steak and potatoes. I love salt and sugar too much.

It’s unfair how tasty that looks. =)

They do really look tasty and I whole-heartedly agree with your foodiness (is that even a word?). Life’s too short for bad food 😉

I’ve read about the 100 Mile Diet before, and I think it’s a great idea — however, living in Calgary would be very challenging! No seafood, very sparse fruit (certainly no citrus). Beef, dairy, and wheat. Bleh! Much easier if you live somewhere like Vancouver or the Okanagan. I’ve thought of aiming for 50% local, but have instead contented myself with growing berries and peas in my garden. 🙂

I think I just lost 2 pounds through the frantic effort of trying to extract them through my computer screen to eat.

I want to eat the computer screen now…
